It is almost time for the annual Police Unity Tour, a chance for officers to join one of the biggest cycle events in the country, remember fallen colleagues and support their loved ones while doing so.

The Unity Tour, which is being held on 19-21 August 2022, is run in chapters around the UK, in support of the Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity. COPS looks after the relatives of those officers who have died in the line of duty.

Events take place around Britain, with riders cycling around 80 miles over the Friday and Saturday.

Last year, the first ride out in two years, saw fundraising top the £1million mark.

If any West Yorkshire Police officer or staff member wants to support this worthy event, the Chief Constable has agreed to support officers taking part – for more details, see the article on the Intranet.

Officers are also being encouraged to set up a JustGiving page to secure further sponsorship for the Care of Police Survivors.

Details of how to get register and where each event is taking place are detailed on the official website at ukpoliceunitytour.org.
