Outstanding work in Kirklees

Lifesaving police officers were praised for their bravery at the Kirklees District Commanders Awards last month.

PC Mohammed Razaq and PC Richard Kilner were awarded for giving first aid to a wounded man.

Sgt Gary Calvert, PC Darren Parkinson, PC Nicholas Benson and PC Richard Nicholls received awards for their role and teamwork during Operation Tackdale, a car crime initiative

A team of officers were recognised for their investigations into a case of child sexual exploitation: PC Karen Truelove, PC Hayley Broadhead, DI Michael Brown, DS Hazel Ward, DC Penny Taylor, PC Jon Sturdy and DC Mark Gregory.

PC Graham Watson and PC Helen Mee received an award for their attempts to save the life of a woman in desperate need of medical attention.

Michelle Lewis was recognised for her bravery when confronting a violent man who had assaulted his wife.

PC Christopher Hill and PC Charlotte Saville were recognised for apprehending three suspects who were armed and attacking a male victim.

PC Scott Gardner and PC Natalie Kokuciak were commended for their efforts to save the life of a man after administering CPR for 20 minutes.

Also commended were PC Caroline Loran, PC Jafar Hussain, SC Annabel Hewitt, DC Anthony Squires, DC Candida Aubrey, PC Sally Baines, PC Richard Bamforth, PC Martyn Guy, PC Joanne Lukacs, Sgt Matthew Hawker, Acting DI Paul Simm, DC Richard Brooke, PC Simon Marshall, DC Rachel Cooper, Sgt Nicola Askew and the Kirklees Custody Team.
