Your assistance is sought in respect of research being conducted by a serving police officer studying for a PhD with Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. Part of the research involves gathering data about officers’ experiences of police performance management across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland by means of a short online survey.
The survey also tests how people respond to different types of performance information. ACPO, the Superintendents’ Association and the Police Federation in all four countries have all agreed to circulate the survey to their members; therefore, officers of all ranks are invited to participate.
As you can appreciate, this UK-wide coverage of all forces represents an unrivalled opportunity to develop a rich understanding of how performance management influences attitudes and behaviour. The ultimate aim of the research is to gain a comprehensive, contemporary and scientifically valid understanding of police performance management and help identify opportunities to improve it. Therefore, your contribution is vitally important and your time is greatly appreciated.
The survey can be accessed via the link above and should take no longer than about 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be strictly anonymous – no information capable of identifying individuals will be collected.
Please note that the link will only remain live for a period of four weeks from Tuesday 29th April 2014.
